she/her/hers

Nuria is a compassionate and intentional therapist who believes that healing and uplifting of a client should be addressed at a holistic level: mind, body, and soul. She believes that true power lies in authentically connecting with another human being as a means of fostering collective liberation. Nuria believes therapy is a space for everyone to be heard, understood, and celebrated for sharing their experiences. Her person-centered approach aligns particularly with liberation psychology, feminist theory, and radical acceptance practices.
Nuria operates from the understanding that it is more than one’s individual thought processes and temperament that affect us; it is also the systems one interacts with every day that have a significant impact on how one moves throughout life. She works with individuals from all walks of life, journeying through life transitions, identity development, or simply having space to process with another person. Nuria is open to working with all people, particularly people of color. She invites you to come to the space as you are, with the understanding that your time together is a space to be brave in sharing and safe enough to know you will be heard.
Nuria earned her B.A. in Human Development and Learning from the University of Illinois at Chicago and is currently completing her Master’s in Social Work at the University of Chicago. In her free time, she enjoys running along the lakefront, reading fiction, and spending time with friends, family, and her cat.
