Nithya [nith-ya] is a compassionate, curious, and collaborative therapist who works with individuals and people in relationships. Her therapy is rooted in authenticity, anti-oppressive and trauma-informed frameworks, and mindful, intentional practice that creates a safe space to explore complex emotions and experiences. She is passionate about working with immigrants, recovering perfectionists, high functioning individuals, couples and people in CNM relationships, and queer and BIPOC people, tailoring her methods to best meet the unique needs of each client.
Working with Nithya, you will learn about yourself and how our brains and bodies are wired. You will work together to identify and work towards creating a life you find fulfilling and meaningful. Nithya integrates a wide range of treatment models including EMDR, IFS, relational-feminist, Brainspotting, and yoga/mindfulness to help you break from old patterns and experiences and work towards your goals. She has extensive experience working with trauma, identity and relationship concerns, anxiety, life transitions, and self-esteem.
Nithya has her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University and Bachelor’s in Neuroscience from University of Illinois at Chicago with a minor in Sociology. She is a first-generation Indian-American woman who grew up in India through childhood. Nithya has a warm, nurturing, and animated presence. During her free time, Nithya can be found playing dungeons and dragons, cuddling with her cat, or exploring Chicago neighborhoods.
