Elda’s philosophy as a therapist is that life is not exclusively black or white, but gray. She understands how thoughts and feelings can be conflicting and overlapping, and helps her clients reconcile these gray areas. Elda’s style is both attentive and gentle. Her priority as a therapist is to ensure client comfort and safety. She believes in the importance of establishing and maintaining a healthy bond with her clients, ensuring that her clients feel secure, confident, and embraced every step of the way to healing.
Elda sees children and their families, parents, and individual adults. Her areas of treatment include men's issues, trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem building, emotional regulation, and difficulty adjusting to life changes. She works with people of all backgrounds, and is particularly passionate about serving fellow Latinos, and she offers services fluently in both English and Spanish.
Elda employs a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychoanalytic Therapy. She believes in the importance of achieving insight on the power of our past experiences and their influence on the unconscious mind, which she seeks to achieve through the use of Psychoanalytic Therapy. She employs techniques used in CBT to transform potentially dysfunctional behaviors and thoughts into healthy and manageable ones. Additionally, Elda has experience with play therapy for children.

Elda earned her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Concordia University Chicago and Bachelor’s in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from DePaul University.
