Anabel Martinez is a compassionate therapist who promotes holistic healing. She employs a mindful body-movement approach including trauma-informed yoga. Anabel is intentional about creating balance and listening to the body’s needs. You can always expect Anabel to provide a warm, genuine, and welcoming approach when engaging in therapy.
Anabel also believes change occurs within a system of support. She has experience providing not only individual therapy, but also group, family and couples therapy. Anabel values the intersectionality of healing the body and the psyche simultaneously. She explores individuals’ concerns by integrating psychodynamic theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered values, and solution-focused techniques
Anabel has gained experience by working in hospital settings providing therapy to individuals struggling with trauma. She is a a proud Mexican American woman, California born, and raised in Chicago. Anabel is fluent in Spanish and English.
Anabel is also committed to reaching a larger audience and promoting community engagement by providing workshops around mental health awareness, social justice, cultural humility, and stress management.
In her free time, Anabel enjoys spending quality time with family, dogs, and friends by enjoying a night in or out, and finding time to make green tea matcha lattes or to brew tea or coffee.
